Woodrow Wilson gave me a damned good start for college and life. Since 1971 when I finished law school, as apparently did so many of our classmates, I did stints in private practice in DC (Wald, Harkrader & Ross); as General Counsel of the University of Pittsburgh; and as General Counsel of a public teaching hospital in Kansas City, MO. I retired a tad early, in 2009, to Northampton, MA -- a college community in lovely New England countryside (where I like hiking and biking), in a region where we speculate our children might ultimately settle.

My wife, Sally (a child psychologist), and I produced three children, who grew up mostly in Pittsburgh. Like many of you have written in the Classbook, watching our children tread their paths as infants, adolescents, adults and now parents (we have three grandkids so far) has definitely been our biggest kick in life.
