I spent 23 years as a Government lawyer (NRC) before taking early retirement at 53. Moved to Seattle with my wife and two kids the next year (2000) to be closer to my wife's aging parents. Published a book in Germany in 2005 on the German-Jewish emigration from Hitler, based principally on letters exchanged between my mother and grandmother in the Thirties. These days divide my time between history and radiation protection issues.
